President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete will begin a four-day official visit to Cuba on Monday and will meet his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro.
The visitor will place a wreath at the monument of Cuban National Hero Jose Marti in Plaza de la Revolucion during his stay, which will last until Thursday.
Kikwete, 59, was Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for ten years and was elected President in 2005.
He is economist and Academy military and had party responsibilities and during his political training he was linked to Tanzanian leader Julius Nyerere.
He is an active member and chairman of the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi, according to the biography published by CCM-Marekani
